A unique journey

Technical director, immersed in the industrial world, Pierre-Etienne Mary is unable to remain indifferent when other models and drawings invade his mind.

At 35, he  decides to turn the page of a settled professional life to let his passion breathe and take precedence.

Pierre-Etienne Mary enrolled at the BOULE school where he worked with rigor, the constraints and requirements related to metal.

In his first experiences, he rubbed shoulders with the restoration of objects. Each client has a new challenge to take up, a new form in the making, a new perspective.

Over time, the need for aesthetics wins over the immediate employability inherent in the restoration. The creator trumps the restorer.

Beyond the work on the material itself, resonates the expression of movement through the capture of light.

Artistic career of Pierre-Etienne MARY

From craftsmanship to art or the atypical career of Pierre-Etienne Mary.

This technical director, unable to sit still when models and drawings invade his mind, chose at the age of 35 to turn the page on a life framed by professional security.

The passion that inhabits him has taken precedence over his ordinary life. Back on the school benches, but this time it is at the Boule school that Pierre-Etienne Mary will give free rein to his imagination while nourishing it with a solid technical background. He then tackles the restoration of decorative objects: each client allows him to study a new form, a new way of working, a new state of mind. Far from being discouraged by multiple puzzles, this relentless worker devotes his patience to the search for suitable solutions.

Over time and orders, the achievements with highly regulated specifications give way to a more aesthetic desire. Pierre-Etienne Mary then uses the practical solutions of his work to create works of art imbued with technicality. The light is captured by the shimmer of its surfaces, the viewer's movement changes his vision of the work. No question of being static, the sheet metal paintings, the artistic plates, the metallic objects give their environment mysterious reflections.
