Karol ADLER


Karol ADLER is a painter of Hungarian origin from a family of artists.
His father, a renowned painter and engraver, illustrated Flaubert and Balzac for luxury editions.
With him he will meet Mané Katz. It was then that he entered the Académie Julian and then the Atelier
de la Grande Chaumière and that he directed his art towards expressionism.
From 1964, he exhibited at his brother “Djuri” singer guitarist who perpetuated the tradition
Yiddish, Russian, Gypsy music.
The themes, all of Jewish essence, reflect the beauty of traditional art where one finds
the stamp of the artist of Hungarian origin.
The mix and contrast of bright colors form a universe bursting with light,
where the characters live.
From weddings to Jewish holidays, we are in the presence of great finesse and a rare
sensitivity in Karol Adler.
While remaining faithful to the folklore of Eastern Europe. The artist enriches his universe with other
themes such as (Venice and its carnival - Provence etc...)
Karol Adler is present in many private collections.
