Isabelle ISTE
After a short period 2000/2001 of lyrical, informal abstraction, Isabelle ISTE evolves towards a more figurative art, even if it is more a question of "representing the figure", to deal with contemporary subjects.
Systematically, the human being is at the center of his creations, sketched, fragmented, these bodies are often shown in an interrogative mode that is once fatalistic ("à corps perdus" series).
Since 2003, in a philosophical and poetic approach, these enigmatic bodies bear witness to the difficult human condition, with their mental and physical scars, their disgraces too, painted without compromise, but always with compassion.

Reality, cultivated in novelty and difference, harmony and antagonism, like a reinvention of figuration whose search for images transcends and perpetuates the illusion.
