Augustin TSHIPAMBA

Augustin Tshipamba, artiste peintre, Congo

Augustin TSHIPAMBA-MPUTU was born in 1968 in Tshikula, Kasai Occidental in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

After primary studies in Tshikula, he began artistic training at the Humanities of Fine Arts in Kamanga, to finish at the Institute of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, where he completed the cycle of graduat with distinction in 1994. Since 1995, he collaborates with the Lisanga Primary School in Kinshasa, in his capacity as an artist.

"Haunted by the desire to create original art, endowed with the most personal touch possible and to breathe new life into Congolese artistic plastics, Augustin takes the time necessary to meticulously refine his work.
It reveals not only a moving palette, but also a message, a poetry, a philosophy, through the thrilling play of colors, movements and shapes. Symbolic elements predominate on his canvases, no doubt borrowed from the great artists of history, but used with remarkable appropriateness. The symbols of fire, animals, gestures, phenomena of nature translate the deep situations which rhythm the daily life of the artist, at the same time as they distil the positive values that the educator-artist defends fiercely. ."
Paul-Olivier Musangi - Art Critic.

Augustin TSHIPAMBA, develops the new current ARTCIP (Art, Creativity and Plastic Innovation), original and full of research. He breathes new life into modern Congolese art by mixing techniques and materials (paint, wax fabrics, Kuba raffia, etc.) that form a whole. ARTCIP advocates peace, justice, hope of life, spirit of initiative, faith in God... Artistic talent is a special gift from above; it reflects the invisible, the unreal and the abstract that the artist sees, feels and expresses to reveal it to the world...
