Heidi Schmelzer - Metzger (*1954) painter

A street scene in Paris, consumers in a Parisian bistro or a village in Provence... Heidi Schmelzer paints with love for details and bright colors happy and peaceful moments of everyday life. This artist living in Basel and in southern Germany has found in naive painting her way of harmoniously representing man in his environment. Its goal is not to dangle a perfect world, but to reproduce real moments from another perspective. Often the paintings remind us of the beautiful moments of everyday life. In his images, everyone can discover serenity.
Her training as a decorator developed her pictorial creativity. After the birth of her two children, she decided to focus more on painting. These paintings do not only appeal to his family and those around him. Since 1982, she regularly takes part in exhibitions, such as: at the ProArte Gallery in Morges, at the World Exhibition of Naive Artists in Bratislava, or at the Naif Gallery in Paris.
Today his children are adults and painting has become his profession.
Since the year 2000, publication of a calendar with pictures of Basel as well as children's books. 2005-2008 Christmas cards for UNICEF, and an Advent calendar each year.
