SALA Michele

Michèle Sala is a self-taught painter born in Toulon in 1948.
She began a career as a civil servant at the Ministry of Finance and it was only after a divorce that she devoted herself to her passion, painting.
She made her first paintings and, encouraged by a friend, she participated in a first exhibition in Caen where she now lives. She received strong support there, which encouraged her to continue.
Michèle Sala paints with acrylics in three colors: red, black, white. His paintings, in an abstract style, are arranged in a diptych or triptych.
"Because I like my paintings to dialogue with each other," she explains. It is a contemporary painting, an aesthetic research which expresses my thoughts, my dreams and my emotions”.
Michele Sala
Michèle Sala, who exhibits regularly in Caen and at the Galerie Art et Miss in Paris, has many sources of inspiration. She does not hide her admiration for Giacometti, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Fontana, or even Magritte, or Soulage, whose painting and way of working particularly affect her. It was after a museum visit that she decided to start. If she doesn't have a particular favorite subject, anything can affect her. And then, she seizes the subject to express her emotions on the canvas, "in her own way"
