François Cognet was born in 1991 and took drawing lessons from the age of 10 to 17. After high school, he joined the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers de l'Image de Bordeaux. Since the beginning of the 2015 school year, he has been evolving at the Bordeaux fine arts workshop. This young artist surprises and seduces with his series of great apes. Regardless of the combination of techniques he uses (oil, acrylic, charcoal, chalk), his works impress with their breadth and realism. A lot is played out in the eyes of the primates who testify that the artist has managed to breathe life into his works.

Since 2016, he has evolved into a series of portraits where the gaze is still the captivating element.
